You've perfectly capture the essence of what is happening. They are too stupid and stubborn to see they are being taken advantage of. On the Left side, I think most people know the elites are taking advantage of them, but on the Right it's become a cult and they just don't care what happens anymore. Burn it all down. Unfortunately, the elites on the right all have big dollar signs in the eyes as their Dear Leader has shown the way. It's the way of Putin and Orban and Erdogan. Just keep things functioning semi normally and people strung along while the rape the economy and all the cronies line their pockets and if/when a revolution happens, they will be long gone either dead or escaped to some paradise.
