We don’t have political parties. We have capitalism and more capitalism. Clearly we are late stage capitalism. Seems like we have to do our dance with fascism until people get fed up with that and we swing back the other way. This country would be a liberal democracy but our founders fucked up with three things. Electoral college. Senators and partisan gerrymandering. If it weren’t for those three things we’d be way more like Switzerland
