This was the natural outcome of unfettered free speech where a person can instantly be in contact with millions of other people, unfiltered. Unfortunately, in the United States we are in a tug of war battle for control in our stupid two party system which according to Game Theory (Prisoners Dilemma) two uncooprative sides will never cooperate, even if it helps both their causes. Eventually something will break in a not very good way. I think that forcing function will be the 2024 election where the GQP tries to install Trump (or DeSantis) as president against the wishes of the majority of the country. We know how this story goes if the fascist win, they will effectively shut the internet down because facsist can't stand dissent.
