This is what Republicans wanted all along. More autonomy from a centralized federal government. Unfortunately breaking up the United States doesn’t solve the rural/urban divide. There really is no solution that makes sense without breaking up individual states. My feeling is if we can past the next couple of elections we’ll emerge in a much better place as the southern old white evangelicals lose their influence over the rest of us and this minority ruling class can be put down.
