This is the main problem. They are not self reflective. It's either a learned trait or a some innate brain flaw. My brother got sucked into the MAGA world years ago and now I can't even have a conversation with him without devolving into a shouting match about how stupid and out of touch all us "liberals" are. His latest thing is the world is flat. I'm not kidding. I read somewhere that MAGA has moved from a political party to a religious sect. Some even call it a cult. Because there is only black and white, no compromise.
What you have is a combination of self denial, greed and lack of education. Fed by a doom loop on Fox news. After Trump the whole right wing had an "aha" moment when they realized they could monetize being a right wing Trump politician. It was easy votes. Just like at MTG and Lauren Boebert, two of the dumbest people you might ever meet, yet here they are running the country. They were smart enough to realize they could make a shit ton of money being a Trump wannabe.
The only way this ends is either with violence or a long slow grind like the cold war where they will eventually lose. They know the demographics are shifting quickly out of their favor, so they are getting backed into a corner and raising the temperature is the only way out.
As to what they expect if they get their wishes and they run everything? Do you really think they can keep their shit together and rule as a unified party? I predict if Trump won and somehow had both houses of congress under his control, it would just disintegrate due to mismanagement and corruptions. States would leave the union. But that might be the plan to have 50 little countries so they can rue the roost in their backwater state while California, NY and the rest of the blue states pull ahead...
It still doesn't address the basic fact that there is no middle class. Good jobs are hard to come by. Healthcare is a mess. There is no safety net in this country and the rich continue to pull ahead. Those are the issues they are most frustrated about and there are no clear answers....
