This is by design. Our corporate overlords want to feed us just enough money to keep us barely alive and working our fingers to the bone, while they reap the profits! A great example is many state governments forcing people off of extended Covid benefits so they can go back to their crappy jobs to keep the fat cat CEOs in their million dollar bonuses.
