They can't do that. First, the DOJ is part of the executive branch. They serve at the behest of the president and comes from a different funding source. Plus, any funding they would try to cut needs to go through the Senate and that's not going to happen. They could play games with the budget, and I am sure they will, but they will lose this battle. I expect all types of shenanigans from them.
