I don’t write much on Medium anymore. I have a full-time job as a coder and I really can’t put the time in to bang out a thousand word essay on political or current issues topic. I just don’t have the time. But there is one thing that gets my juices flowing and it’s the war on Working From Home (WFH) or aka remote work.

It looks like the battle has been escalated as of today. A story in the Seattle Times reports that on May 1, 2023, all corporate Amazon employees will need to return to the office 3 days a week if they want to keep their jobs. Boom! An easy way to lose several hundred employees is by forcing them back to the office.

A little history in case you’ve been living under a rock for the last three years, the Covid tsunami crashed into the industrialized corporate world. There is some debate on whether it was the right thing to send everyone home or not in hindsight. Sweden never really locked down everyone and they came out of this whole thing in pretty good condition (mainly because they have great universal healthcare), but the flip side of that…
