The big takeaways from the election where that the Republican narrative of a red wave was barely a trickle. Historically, it should be huge. 1994 - 53 seats. 2010 - 64 seats. 2018 - 41 seats. So far the republicans have gained 3 seats. They might control the house with a 2-3 seat majority. Hardly a red wave or even a mandate to get anything done. It was an abysmal night for the MAGA party.
The other thing is that the pundits like 538 who kept saying that in the "favorability" towards the republicans in a generic poll favors them to pick up 20+ seats. Not happening. The old days of polling are over. Nobody picks up their phones anymore to answer them except little kids and senile old white people.
