Since the Tea Party movement started Republican politicians have been all about lining their pockets with money. Bush Jr and Cheney used a fake war to do it. McConnell and Chao and the rest of them have used their power to stuff their bank accounts with their ill gotten booty. Trump threw them a curve ball. He was an outsider but had similar goals. Now they’ve figured out how to harness his power and are scrambling to milk it for everything they can. DeSantis will be next in line. Trump will be out. But never forget it’s all about lining their pockets with cash and power.
