Sean are we brothers? Man, that's all I ever wanted out of life was a slightly introvert partner. My idea of a good time is going to a quiet pub and sitting in the corner with some friends having a good discussion. Not staying up til 4am at some rave. For good or bad, I married a woman that is more extroverted than I. But after many years of marriage and kids we have an understanding that I don't like loud concerts. I don't like staying up all night long drinking with friends and dancing the night away. If she needs to get that out of her system, she can do that with her girlfriends. Thankfully, it's not something that happens every weekend so it's OK and we do our separate things on those nights. It's the other 90% of things we have a shared interest in that keeps us together. But somewhere deep down I do wish I met that mousy book reading introvert that likes to walk on the beach and cook.
I want to add too that in the USA it's a sad reality that extrorevtism is highly valued in our capitalistic society where grind culture and face time in your corporate office is what gets you ahead and not the mousy accountant sitting in the corner just doing a good job.
