My son just went to a semester to study abroad in Tokyo at Seikei and is fluent in Japanese and from talking to him extensively he had almost the same exact thought. He loves Japanese culture but found it nearly impossible to break through to fellow Japanese students but made a lot of friends with international students. Now he wants to go to Europe to study.
