My mother and sister live in northern Florida in a liberal pocket, but all it takes is a short drive to the next town and it's obvious those people are in a cult. My brother (in rural Virginia) succumbed years ago to alt-right rhetoric and now is so deep into it you can't even have a meaningful conversation about the most basic day to day stuff because the conspiracy stuff has infiltrated every fiber of their being. I haven't talked directly with him for a year but I hear snippets from my mother who still tries to talk to him from time to time. He recently got fired from his job (he's in his late 50s) because he had a clash with his new supervisor. I wonder what it was about? Not too hard to figure out, I'm sure.

They are everywhere, more so in places like Texas and Florida, but they love to talk about their crazy cult to anyone that will listen. Unfortunately, they can still vote...
