Much might be lost, but the most likely scenario is that the USA slips into the same type of kleptocracy as Russia and many other eastern European countries. They still function as nation states but only benefit the oligarchs. The world markets will crash that's for sure. Lots of civil unrest but I am not sure "all will be lost". Maybe the USA is too big to manage from a central location anymore. This might be good for western and north eastern states. Let Texas and Florida rot. All I know is as a liberal I am stocking up and buying guns!
