More doom porn. I thought it was Umair for a minute. First thing, things are not going to collapse (if they ever really collapse) overnight. How about we call it a reset? Never mind that earth still has so much arable land that we don't use for crops it's ridiculous. Humans could 10x the amount of food we produce if we were smarter about it, and we are getting smarter and more efficient about producing food every day. One way is vertical farming but you leave that kind of stuff out. Vertical farming doesn't solve the protein problem but it does solve a lot of problems in farming other crops. Anyway, right in the first sentence, you say a BILLION humans are going to die in our lifetime. Well, no shit! https://worldpopulationreview.com/countries/deaths-per-day says that 332,000 people die every day on this earth. For a billion people to die, that would be ten years.

As for the rare earth metal problem. Humans seem to be discovering new repositories for these elements every day and Telsa just announced that they will greatly reduce their need for rare earth elements on their new cars. It's just the beginning as we figure out new technologies https://electrek.co/2023/03/01/tesla-is-going-back-to-ev-motors-with-no-rare-earth-elements/

The list goes on but doom porn gets clicks and makes people a lot of money.
