Mike Pence In 2024?
Why in the world is Pence running for President again? I think I figured it out.
Do you remember Mike Pence? The conservative, born again Christian, boomer white guy that ran for President for the GOP in 2016. Lost the primary race, only to be named as Trump’s running mate and ultimately serves as Vice President for four years in the long shadow of Trump. This is the same guy that 1/6 rioters threatened to hang in front of the Capitol building by building a hangman’s noose. There are some stories that say that Pence was a car ride away from disaster and that he opted not to go with Trump’s security agents and go with his own to get out of the Capitol building as the rioters were descending on the building. We’ll probably never know what Trump had in mind for Pence but let’s say it probably wasn’t pretty. No wonder the guy is pissed off at Trump.
As a Vice President, he was pretty ineffectual because of the fact that Trump wouldn’t let Pence do anything that would possibly take the spotlight off of Trump. So, he mostly spent his time on the sidelines counting the days until the end of the Trump presidency so he could possibly come out from the shadows and run as President again.
