It’s Four Short Years Until 2028

Trump will be awful, but it will be over quickly

We all had our fingers crossed this week as Kamala Harris tried to pull of the impossible feat of running for president in less than four months after Joe Biden pulled out. She did a great job of running at the last minute but there were too many hurdles for her to overcome, mainly that she is a black woman from a liberal state and she inherited the inflation problems created by Trump four years earlier.

This cycle of Republicans trashing the economy for short term gains and letting the Democrats pick up the pieces and then blaming them for all of our economy problems has been going on since Nixon trashed our economy in the early 1970s. I suspect Trump will do the same thing, mainly creating tariffs and driving up prices and creating more inflation but for the meantime, the stock market is doing well, but in four years we could be looking at a different picture since Trump seems incapable of dealing with the economy.

But, let’s back up. Campaigning for the next election starts in three short years. We also have the midterms in two years and campaigning for them starts next year. I have no doubt that congress will turn heavily blue next term because it’s what happened in 2018 and 2022. Midterms are good for democrats especially because we will be two years into a chaotic Trump presidency…
