It’s called The Sunk Costs Fallacy. People will keep doubling down on something because they keep thinking it’s going to be winner. Also they can’t tell their friends and family that the guy they backed is a loser because it makes you look like a loser.

Unfortunately for trump he’s really not picking up new voters. Either is Biden. But I’m pretty sure that people, especially young voters, will hold their nose and vote for Biden.

Also of note. Polling is broken. It hasn’t worked since 2016 because pollsters keep using phones to call people randomly. My twenty something year old kids barely answer their phone much less pick up a random call from a stranger. You know who picks up the phone? Old people. Who votes for trump? Old people!
