In the scope of what you are talking about it’s not a foregone conclusion. Don’t throw a dying child into the mix. Humans will survive still and almost any catastrophic event you can think up including global warming. It might not be pretty but a thousand years from now I’m betting humanity has either stopped and reversed global warming and much of our political messes. Purveyors of doom want you to believe there are no solutions. There are many. We just have to do them.
