If we didn’t have gerrymandering and the electoral college we’d never be here. But to mikes point. There is a divide in the USA. The people driving this crap with trump are t doing it just because they are power hungry. Rural Americans have an outsized power and they are flexing it. They feel left behind and put down. Because they have more say than your typical liberal city dweller and the job situation in many rural areas is awful they are wielding that power. Not sure how it all ends but trump will become a fascist dictator if we allow him. It’s in his dna.
