I think what Mike assumes is that Trump simply isn’t as smart and methodical as Hitler. But I posit that Hitler had a lot of smart but deranged people around him. Hitler and Trump both were good going to rallies, stirring up hatred and division. Hitlers bogeyman was Jews. Trumps is immigrants and liberals. But I agree with Mike on some points. Trump doesn’t have the backing of the generals, although that could change. The court system is still intact. The states have more power to pushback than Germany. The biggest thing of all is that the united states is diverse and expansive. There was very little resistance to Hitler and I think if Trump tried a complete takeover like Hitler it would spark a revolt that might not be pretty.
