I think what Andrew leaves out here is that Ukrainian troops are being instructed and trained to the most modern current techniques in warfare. They actually have food to feed their troops. They have new clothes. Their guns aren't rusty and 50 years old. Sure, it would be nice if we could open up all our old cold war era weapons to them (I agree we should do more and if a democrat doesn't win in 2024 this is all over), but Russian troops have zero motivation to win while Ukrainian troops are fighting for their motherland and their families and are highly motivated. It makes a huge difference. I think the best Putin could do is drag this out until there is a change in leadership in the USA or the EU breaks ranks, both of which are still quite possible. Otherwise, Putin will keep throwing more fodder out there. It's all so sad...
