I think this goes to the heart of trumpism (and fascism in general) we seem to be in this doom loop that runs every 75 years or so. Fascism rises because people want a change. So catastrophic war ensues. People sick of fascism turn super liberal and as time goes on people forget the atrocities and slowly turn towards the right again.

I struggled with Trump for a long time because I simply couldn’t fathom why people lined him. But it really comes down to filling a vacuum that democrats seem unable to fill. It’s not like MAGA don’t like liberal policies. (Keep your hands off my social security!)

Now we are in a battle of sanity vs chaos. Trump is a master at creating a cult following and I don’t think his followers care one bit about his policies because “he gets us” and “he gets shit done” both of which are not true.
