I think the next wave will still mostly a pandemic of the under and unvaccinated. The USA is still only 62% vaccinated and 50% boosted so it might get pretty bad again. I think we will have a dead cat bounce in cases and as the weather gets warmer few cases altogether.

The IHME is still predicting that we go almost to zero cases. https://covid19.healthdata.org/united-states-of-america?view=infections-testing&tab=trend&test=infections BA.2 will only be an issue for the unvaccinated. As was Omicron. China is going to see a huge wave because their vaccines suck. New Zealand is seeing an uptick but Covid has barely been through there and they still have 15% of the people unvaccinated.

I'm not an infectious disease expert (I just play one on Medium!) but from that 60 minutes piece 2 weeks ago, an expert said there is nothing out there that is giving them concern BA.2 is no worse than Omicron in terms of deaths. Covid will eventually become another common cold as it mutates itself into a more mild version (those were his words, not mine)
