I think a couple of things are going on. Trump is being Trump and MAGA loves it. His base is a fixed size and is not growing, maybe even shrinking a bit. They only make up about 35% of the population. He is feeling a bit desperate and as I wrote about a year ago here in a story, Trump will go there. It is going to get much worse from him as he doubles down.

I also think that Trump thinks that all of this doesn't matter anymore. The voting. The campaigning. Down ballot votes. All of that stuff because he thinks he will be president one way or another at the end of the day. If that is by force or cheating, then he is prepared. The only problem with this scenario is that Biden and Harris are not simply going to walk out of the white house if there major irregularities with vote counting. There will also be a heavy national guard presence in DC until the matter is resolved. Of course, in Trump's mind, the only resolution is him getting back into the White House.
