I still remember when Bush Jr. was president and how screwed up things were. He was a bumbling idiot very similar to Trump but was kept in power by 9/11. Reagen may have been a born again Christian (as was Bush Jr.) but at least he knew how to negotiate and try to minimize the gridlock we have now. Bush even reached across the aisle to get things done. I think Democrats would love nothing more than a functioning GOP to get stuff done, but they just only care about power with no plan for governing. If we weren't on a knife's edge with the Senate, Democrats would be doing great things. So, the blame lays with both sides really. The Democrats have their hands tied and the Republicans won't do anything because they are big babies. It really is time to bring in the nuclear option on the filibuster because when the Republicans retake the house and the Senate in 2022 it will be the functional end of our democracy,.
