I see my college age kids and their friends struggle to find jobs and the jobs they find are nowhere near as good as what I had after I got out of college much less my father back in the 1960s when he was a federal government employee and he had a new house in the new suburbs outside of DC and a new car and my mother stayed home with the three of us and we never really struggled with anything moneywise. Now kids barely can afford rent as it takes up a huge chunk of their income. My home is literally worth $2 million (we purchased it 30 years ago) and they look at it and say we are rich when we aren't really we have a home that they can't afford. I attribute the vast majority of this unease to Fox news and Trump, beating that drum day after day after day about how bad things are. When you have half the country watching propaganda about how bad things are while filling up the huge gas tanks on their huge pickup trucks and going to McDonalds spending $50 to feed a family a simple breakfast, you are right there is cognitive dissonance. All I can say is that Biden better get out there and start beating the drum on how good things are...
