I grew up before gadgets and the internet. Big deal. Do you know how time I had to wait around for my parents to pick me up a various things. The mall or school or whatever because I was ready and they weren't? No privacy on the phone because we all had to share the same damn phone even as an adult. When we finally got wireless phones you could go outside and have a private conversation. I am constantly surprised how resourceful and knowledgeable my college kids are compared to me. We had newspapers and watch news maybe a couple of times a week.
I'll take a specific hobby but it could be anything like this. I loved working on cars. If we had to find out something we either went to the library and had to check out a book on that car or try and find likeminded car enthusiasts that knew your car. Sure there were clubs but now I can watch Youtube vidoes on how to fix almost anything on any car. Instead of wasting time running around to a variety of hardware stores tracking down parts, I can just order them on the internet. Do you know how much time that saves for leisure reading? Or walking? Or meditating? It's up to you to make the highest and best use of your time. Big deal if you can scratch any itch.
