I am going to disagree with you here. It is greed and Capitalism at all costs that is the problem here. Not representative democracy, although the way we have it set up now doesn't work. When you put money making above everything else, then you don't care what Putin or Orban or Kim do until it threatens your own money. Right now there is not enough harm caused by Putin for us (western societies) to even get out of bed over this. If he was threatening the oil fields in Saudi Arabia, we'd be there in a nano second. We will eventually forget that Putin took over Ukraine and go back to our drivel.

I wonder what the real red line is. Poland? Slovakia? Honestly, I don't think he has enough troops and resources to maintain peace even in Ukraine. You can't really control a country of 40 million people with 150,000 troops. We could invade Ukraine and march to Moscow without any resistance because he has everything tied up in Ukraine. We'll see if the Ukrainian people rise up but just like in Iraq war 1, the people were too worried about their next meal to fight. The same might be true of Ukraine.
