He plan was all laid out in a book called "Foundations of Geopolitics" written in 1997. Putin has pretty much stayed true to this book since then. I agree, Putin is 70 and from the looks of him, not in great health. He wanted his vision fulfilled before he went to the great beyond. Unfortunately, he is doing the opposite of what he intened by uniting the west and basically taking the air out of the Right's momentum. The longer the world has to watch daily bombings of Ukraine the worse it will be for the Right.
Here is a quote from the book: "Russia should use its special services within the borders of the United States to fuel instability and separatism, for instance, provoke "Afro-American racists". Russia should "introduce geopolitical disorder into internal American activity, encouraging all kinds of separatism and ethnic, social and racial conflicts, actively supporting all dissident movements – extremist, racist, and sectarian groups, thus destabilizing internal political processes in the U.S. It would also make sense simultaneously to support isolationist tendencies in American politics"
