EV technology isn’t quite there yet. The infrastructure, fast charging and range don’t match ICE cars. Yet. It’s coming pretty soon. Unfortunately the company leading the way is Tesla and puts out a product that is flawed in many ways. 95% of trips in cars are way shorter than the range on your standard EV but for those trips to grandmas that might be too far or trying to find a fast charger on a vacation are causing people to pause. Plus the damn things are more expensive than they need to be. Most EVs are luxury cars that few people can afford. Unless American and European car companies can greatly reduce their costs (unlikely) we will be stuck with overpriced American EVs while the rest of the world will enjoy cheap Chinese EVs.
