Did ChatGPT write this drivel? There is being too old and being forced out no matter how engaged or curious you are. I've a 60 year old software dev that still gets new jobs and keeps up with the latest stuff. But, I will not work in tech ever again. I put in those years at FAANG (or MAANG or whatever) years ago and it's great money but at what cost to your health and sanity? I wish people would stop equating software development jobs with the tech industry. So many other industries need software developers and they mostly don't give a crap about your age as long as you can keep up. I expect to keep writing code for several more years before I retire. I have experienced age discrimination but not being curious or keeping up was not my problem
