Chaos Is A Ladder

Trump has been watching Game of Thrones

It’s been a while since Game of Thrones had the world in it’s grasp. The crazy fantasy story with over the top sex scenes and crazy political ambitions was a tour de force. One of my favorite characters was a guy named Littlefinger.

Littlefinger was known in the show to cause, destruction, chaos and death. Snuffing out many rivals and even causing wars, all to try to get to the top of the shit pile that was Westeros. He was exceptionally good at it and I loved one of his favorite lines in the show:

Littlefinger: “Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some, are given a chance to climb. They refuse, they cling to the realm or the gods or love. Illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is.””

I feel this captures Trump to a T. Trump thrives in chaos. He loves to create tension and pit people against themselves for his entertainment. He has an innate ability to find a wedge issue and exploit it for personal gain. A great example of this was the first time he ran for president. He kept chanting “Build The Wall!” and “Mexico will pay for it”. Which we all on the left knew was bullshit.

After he gets elected he builds a crappy wall that doesn’t stop anyone from crossing the border…
