As someone that grew up in the Washington DC area and moved to the Seattle area 30 years ago I can tell you that it’s such a breath of fresh air to live in a progressive state. The only downside is that things are expensive. My house has appreciated 5x in 21 years. My wife works at Microsoft and they pay handsomely. As does Amazon. I’ll retire soon a wealthy person because of all the liberal policies out here.

I’m not saying that liberals are perfect. Oregon and parts of California seemed to have gone overboard in places like San Francisco and Portland and we are seeing less liberal ideas take hold again. Same here in Seattle. They are cleaning up the homeless mess and addressing the crazy housing costs.

Part of me says fuck all those red states like Alabama and west Virginia. CA, OR and WA together are like the fourth largest economy in the world. We don’t need them.
