2022 Predictions

The world will not end next year. 2022 should be mostly quiet.

Come along on my personal journey of what might happen in the next year. I don’t think a lot of this will be a shock to most people, but at the same time, many people don’t like to think that far ahead.

1. The Stock Market will continue its surge upwards, especially in the Tech sector, albeit at a slower pace than in 2021. With governments printing lots of money, it has to go somewhere and that’s the stock market. The market crash we are all expecting will not happen yet. That will probably be in 2025.
2. Workers in North America will have a great year. The labor market will tighten more than it already is as workers demand more pay and benefits to keep up with inflation. Wages will go up. People will start to feel better as their situations improve and as they make more money. Minimum wages for many large companies creep up as hospitality and retail can’t find workers and need to raise wages.
3. Housing prices will moderate a bit but still, continue upwards as is reflected by the stock market. All that stock money has to go somewhere and it is going into real estate. Interest rates will creep up as central banks try to tame inflation.
